Astrophoto: Beehive Cluster – Messier 44 – 03/24

Fresh photons for a classic! Messier 44 photographed this year with my Baader Travel Companion 95/580 Apo.

Quite a mess preceded this photo. I had to wait quite a long time for my Baader first. It had to undergo optimization. This was then carried out to my fullest satisfaction.

Following that, in the same vein, I also swapped out my control hardware, transitioning from a notebook with Ubuntu and EKOS/INDI to a Raspberry Pi 5 with Stellarmate OS and EKOS/INDI.

This image is thus the first photo in the new, now fully upgraded stage of my Baader Travel Companion. And this just before the galaxy season kicks off and I’ll be switching telescopes.
