I was able to “hit” this second object as well and capture it in an image as proof. No bias frames, no darks, no flats.
The goal was just to get started — and I got off to a spectacular start.

The second deep-sky object I had the chance to marvel at was the Pleiades.
Is there any better way to start this hobby than with the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades?
