After a longer deep-sky session, when I went outside at night to pack up, the Moon smiled at me. The short extra effort was worth it.
Session Analysis
The actual session was a deep-sky session for capturing an image of the Elephant Trunk Nebula. In this case, I had installed my duo-narrowband filter, which I briefly had to remove between objects. I have the filter mounted in a drawer of the Canon RF adapter, so I simply swap out the entire EOS adapter, and I’m ready to go again. It only takes a few steps without needing to unscrew anything.
As noted in the session analysis, I briefly refocused and plate solved (A) next to the moon at 12.8°C, then manually took my individual exposures with the camera (B), which I later processed into the final image.
