I used several new techniques for this photo.
For the first time, I recorded a 4K video with my EOS R and used it as the basis for the image – actually two videos, one for the upper half and one for the lower half of the Moon.
This meant that I created my first lunar mosaic. Using Affinity Photo’s standard panorama function, it turned out to be surprisingly simple.
I enhanced the mineral colors as usual in Affinity Photo.
What was new for me, however, was sharpening the details directly in Affinity Photo using various live filters, instead of doing it in Registax.
All of these changes pushed me a real step forward. And I already have a few more ideas in mind that promise even further improvements.
