As I find, a truly beautiful large open star cluster with many stars in stunning colors. Definitely too pretty not to photograph!
Session Planning
With NGC 6940, I have chosen a rather large open star cluster, which is located in the constellation Vulpecula and which I am catching fairly late in the year. The meridian flip was expected shortly after 10:00 PM, which I find is quite early in the night.
Session Analysis
The seeing that night was mediocre, and the guiding quality reflects that. However, for an open star cluster, I think that’s manageable. Definitely a great object.
