The Sun is our closest star and one of the most fascinating subjects in astrophotography. Its enormous brightness makes solar imaging a special challenge and requires dedicated solar filters designed for safe observation and photography. The Sun should never be photographed through a telescope or camera without proper protection.
One of the most interesting features is sunspots, which appear as dark regions on the photosphere. Depending on the level of solar activity, fine structures within sunspot groups and bright faculae can also be captured. With specialized H-alpha filters, the chromosphere becomes visible, revealing features such as prominences and other dynamic structures.
